Three days into our Belgium road trip and I think the dynamic duo are beginning to think that this place is our new home. Weather is great, beer even greater, frites, gaufre, and other local specialties all very tasty and never enough; it’ll be a sad day when we have to go back to Italy. Still haven’t bought the famous belgian chocolates but will get those in a couple of days!
Gaufres Liégeoises, chocolate-stuffed (they stick chocolate batons into the cooked gaufre) or plain – a definite must when in Liege. Get ’em piping hot from the open window at Pollux (far left in the photo) on rue de la Cathedrale.
I really like Belgium , used to go a lot when I lived in Germany .. Love Bruge , beautiful place to go.

I don’t know why we never thought to travel to Belgium before – but as of this trip, we are already looking forward to the next visit. Beautiful country, lovely towns, and yes, Bruge is gorgeous! Spent all my money on chocolates!

Maddie aka ‘Miss Aloha’ made several new friends in the first few days here. And it’s always a delight when we come across Scottish visitors…they always stop to greet her with a pat on the head and to tell us that they have a westie back home!

Haha! That’s sweet. I knew so little about Westies before Jacques came into my life. They definitely have big personalities! You can’t help but smile when you see them – especially a cutie like Maddie! 🙂
