Running among the tulips

Mister B at Groot-Bijgaarde

Located just west of Brussels, Groot-Bijgaarden Castle and its 14 hectare park is a definite must if you’re this close to The Netherlands but have no interest in crossing Belgium’s border to tulip country. The dog-friendly park opens each spring with a large exhibition of gorgeous tulips and other bulb flowers. Web:

Maybe one day, if we have more time as I would love to go all the way to Denmark. The difference between Keukenhof and Belgium’s Groot-Bijgaarden is ginormous! Keuk has 18 more hectares plus another 6 million bulbs – it would take several days to enjoy it all!

Perfect weather really made all the difference because we knew beforehand that springtime in Belgium is very rainy. In any case, I think it has a little bit of everything to suit all tastes!
