Primavera in the chestnut forest

Heatwave in the Pacific Northwest. Near 100 degrees in Los Angeles. I’m glad for our low 60’s brought on by spring showers. The garden has been coming along in an explosion of bright color. Hyacinth, daffodils, tulips and the tomato seedlings are flourishing.

Mint and basil are kitchen essentials for many types of cuisine.

Despite all this beauty, the most precious happens to be one that does not get dibs on the empty pizza box. Notice anything new?
